“We are never more fully alive, more completely ourselves, or more deeply engrossed in anything than when we are playing." -Charles Schaefer

Child Therapy

We believe, no matter what is happening, every child is perfect just they way they are.  We also understand that because we are alive challenges arise and children and parents want support.  Play therapy might be right for your child if they are experiencing:

  • Grief/loss

  • Separation anxiety

  • Sleep issues

  • Aggression

  • Outbursts

  • Impulsiveness

  • Issues at school

  • Sadness

  • Fearfulness

  • Low self-esteem

  • Potty training issues

  • Other childhood issues

Play therapy gives your child the opportunity to express themselves in their own language.  Since children do not fully express themselves using verbal language until much later in life, they often communicate through actions and behaviors.  Play is a clear way to bring context and "language" to these actions and behaviors.  In this way, the therapist speaks with your child through play and translates the experience back to you, offering the opportunity for deeper understanding.

Through the process your child feels fully seen and heard, and they can begin to realize that their challenges are also their best teachers.

Adults and Adolescents?

Yes, adults and adolescents can benefit from play therapy!  While not everyone will necessarily be playing with toys, we approach individual therapy through the spirit of play, light-heartedness and creativity.  You might want to consider play therapy as an option if you are an adult or adolescent experiencing:

  • Depression

  • Isolation

  • Anxiety

  • Relationship issues

  • Low self-esteem

  • Grief/loss

We believe that every individual is moving toward health the best way they know how.  Through the therapy process we will help awaken your inner wisdom to re-develop a close relationship with yourself.  In doing so, we believe you will then open yourself to deeper relationships with those around you.
